"Boelcke's Dicta"

One of the first leaders to create a formula for success for his fledgling pilots, Oswald Boelcke created his "Dicta" to keep new pilots alive long enough to become seasoned. His formula worked. Jasta 2 was hugely successful and became the school for future greats like Manfred von Richthofen. The Dicta still holds true today and is often taught in"Fighter Pilot 101" in the training programs of modern air forces.
